Your child will explore the water independently as they learn the fundamentals of swimming. Classes are 20 minutes.

Ages 6 Months - 3 Years

An Adult is required to enter the pool with child for this level. Both child and adult must wear a swim suit. Children not potty trained must have a swim diaper. Classes are 20 minutes.

*If you are purchasing a Recreation Card to get the Resident Rates on Parent and Child Swim Lessons, the Resident card AND the Parent/Child Swim lessons get enrolled under the Parents name. Children under three years of age do not receive recreation cards.

Students will learn to submerge the face, arm and leg motions and experience buoyancy.

Level 2 is for 4 yrs. old and older and student must be able to float for 5 seconds unassisted.
Begin locomotion skills by exploring arm and leg movements that will become strokes in the future.

In Level 3, we build on Level 2 skills through guided practice. Students will refine the front crawl and learn elements of the butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke.
This is a 30 minute swim lesson. Students must complete Level 2 or demonstrate all completion requirements.

For Levels 4-6, student must be able to do the following:
Butterfly motion kick
Rythmic breathing
Swim 20 yards

This level will refine all the strokes taught in the previous levels as well as develop endurance and confidence.

This is a 30 minute swim lesson.

Prepare for your High School swim season. This clinic focuses on the four swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) as well as starts, turns, drills and endurance training.

This beginner course will teach the skills and techniques to successfully use a kayak and paddle board. Closed toed shoes, swim suit, towel, sunscreen and water bottle required.

*Must register by 8/17*

Beginners to competitive swim team geared for recreational and competitive swimming.This is a great way to see if your child is interested in competitive swimming. Swimmers will learn and expand on swimming skills in a fun and caring atmosphere with Coach Kyle Trelka. Swimmer must be able to swim one length of pool (25yds).

Learn the fundamentals of competitive diving. Students will practice approaches, forward and back jumps and more. Once you know the basics, you will move on to more advanced dives.

Workouts focus on general fitness and stroke technique as well as elements of race training. This mix makes the program an ideal place for both the fitness and competitive swimmers alike.

Earn your way to a fun and rewarding job - become a certified lifeguard! Participants will learn life sustaining skills in water and on land. Certification includes Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
Participants must pass the swim test and attend all classes. Bring suit, towel, dry clothes and a non-perishable lunch.

After successful completion, candidates have the opportunity to apply to work at Highlander Pool.
